3 Product description
PLICSMOBILE T61 • External GSM/GPRS radio unit
37700-EN-130228
sensors. Due to the large operating voltage range and the integrated
power saving functions, a mains-independent power supply via bat-
tery or solar cells is possible. Typical applications are measured value
transmission from mobile vessels, battery-operated level measure-
ment and deep well measurement.
The measured value and message transmission can be optionally
carried out via e-mail or SMS. Furthermore the measured values can
be transitted via http to the visualisation software WEB-VV. The use of
the PLICSMOBILE T61 is particularly suitable for inventory manage-
ment, VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) and remote enquiry.
The external radio unit PLICSMOBILE T61 can be connected to any
4 … 20 mA HART two-wire sensor of the plics
®
series. The prereq-
uisite for this is always the version in the single chamber housing
with I²C interface for connection of a VEGADIS 61. The measured
value detected by the sensor is passed on via the I²C interface to the
PLICSMOBILE T61.
The transmission of measured values, event messages and diagnos-
tic information to the user is carried out via the GSM/GPRS network.
Thanks to quadband technology, the device can be used virtually
anywhere in the world. There is also the option of accessing the con-
nected sensor via remote parameter adjustment.
Power is supplied via a standard low voltage source (external power
supply unit/battery/accumulator/solar module) or via an battery/ac-
cumulator pack integrated in the battery chamber (optional). You can

As an option, the PLICSMOBILE T61 can also provide power to the
connected sensor.
3.3 Operation
The adjustment is made via PACTware and the respective DTM by
using the integrated USB connection.
3.4 Packaging, transport and storage
Your instrument was protected by packaging during transport. Its
capacity to handle normal loads during transport is assured by a test
following ISO 4180.
The packaging of standard instruments consists of environment-
friendly, recyclable cardboard. For special versions, PE foam or PE
foil is also used. Dispose of the packaging material via specialised
recycling companies.
Transport must be carried out under consideration of the notes on the
transport packaging. Nonobservance of these instructions can cause
damage to the device.
The delivery must be checked for completeness and possible transit
damage immediately at receipt. Ascertained transit damage or con-
cealed defects must be appropriately dealt with.
